Service Deposits

• Credit check and Deposits
  • A credit check will be performed on all new memberships in the REMC
  • Minimum Credit Risk – No deposit required
  • Medium Credit Risk – 1.5 times the highest monthly bill but not less than $250 (unheated buildings and campers), $400 (gas heat), and $750 (electric heat)
  • High Credit Risk – 2 times the highest monthly bill but not less than $250 (unheated buildings and campers), $400 (gas heat), and $750 (electric heat)
  • If applicant refuses to provide information, insufficient information to obtain credit information, then an deposit of 2 times the highest monthly bill but not less than $250.  A credit may be made to your bill after 24 months of having a good payment history
  • Interest is not accrued on deposits
